The Forgiveness Foundation makes every effort possible to help the men and women on death row know that God cares about them. Many inmates are forgotten by their families. Unfortunately some are used as pawns to promote a political agenda either supporting or opposing the death penalty. The only position the Forgiveness Foundation takes with the inmates is that Jesus died on the cross for their sin and that by accepting Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior will spend eternity their eternity with Jesus. It is our desire to share our love of Jesus by helping each inmate feel like a valued member of God's creation. One way which we do this is by providing each inmate with a Christmas card sharing the story of the birth of Jesus, explaining what Christmas is really about. The 2007 Christmas card was very special because every death row inmate will receive a crayon-drawn Christmas card from a Sunday school child. This will mean that nearly 3,500 Christmas cards will have to be prepared before October 1, so I can place a personal message in the card prepared by the child. The child who prepared it will sign the card. I'm already excited. I often receive requests for pictures to decorate their cells. Each will have an original just before Christmas and for many, it will be the only Christmas present they receive.
